Product Information

This best-selling, traditional style long handled brush is favoured by professional therapists for lymphatic drainage treatments. Opal London Sisal Bristle Back Brush allows easy reach to the back and feet without excessive bending and features a detachable head with woven hand strap.

What is Sisal?
Sisal is a completely natural vegetable fibre, made from the leaves of the agave cactus. The thick leaves are crushed in a mangle, where rollers remove the moist fleshy outer husk, leaving long off-white fibres, which are bundled together then hung in the sun to dry. The thickness and flexibility of the fibre depends upon the particular strain of the plant. Chinese Sisal produces a softer fibre which is spun into the coarse yarn, used for knitted and woven exfoliating gloves, mitts, backstraps and softer sisal spa brushes. Alternatively, the Mexican agave cactus produces a much firmer fibre, sometimes known as 'Mexican Fibre' which is ideal for the stiff bristle needed to stimulate the skin during dry body brushing.

Opal London pursue a policy of non animal testing and sustainable resourcing.

Excellent 26/09/13

Good quality and not too expensive

Poor 20/09/13

The bristles of the backbrush are too stiff. You call it invigorating, I call it harsh. Perhaps you could give more detail what you are selling. If I had seen the brush in a shop I would not have bought it.

Poor 09/01/13

It is very rough! Hurts to use on my skin. I hope it will soften up over time but I don't look forward to using it.
