This first made-to-measure perfume earned its creator the title of “Perfumer to His Majesty” and official supplier to the Imperial Court by Napoleon III.
Pierre-François-Pascal Guerlain fructified this imperial recognition and his creations soon conquered all the royal courts of Europe. On the occasion of this Imperial commission, Pierre-François-Pascal Guerlain established a partnership with the prestigious glassmaker Pochet & du Courval. Together, they created the bottle bearing a constellation of 69 bees, which became emblematic as a symbol of the Empire. Today, it is the emblem of the Guerlain family of Eaux.
