From the foundation she swears by to the secret behind her flawless ‘selfies’, we caught up with Mollie King to discover the secrets behind her beauty look…
I don’t wear much make-up on my days off but I would apply Maybelline Better Skin for a dewy finish. It makes my skin look radiant without looking greasy. If I’m going on the red carpet I would apply a primer underneath so my skin didn’t look shiny in the pictures.
My beauty must-haves are dry shampoo for instant volume and body, Maybelline Baby Lips because they are perfect in every way and I love Essie pink nail colours. I love cleansing oils because they feel so nice on my skin, L’Oréal Paris Skin Perfection Cleansing Oil is my favourite but I also use Carita .
‘Mix up the texture of your moisturiser depending on the season; go for something light for summer and thick for winter’
It’s fair to say I’m inspired by Cara Delevingne when it comes to my brows. I’m trying to make mine a little thicker and I love Maybelline Brow Drama . You use the wand to brush the hairs up and it makes them look fuller.
‘I’m embracing pink nails with glitter at the moment, I like to call them my Barbie nails’
I have a secret when it comes to Instagram as I’m obsessed with the X-Pro II filter which makes you look like you’re wearing foundation and eyeliner when you’re not. There are so many pictures on my Instagram where I’ve used this. I haven’t got a scrap of make-up on but you’d never know.
When it comes to my body I swear by spinning and I go to a studio called Lomax. I go on a Sunday morning which can be tough if I’ve been out the night before. It really gets your endorphins going and leaves you ready for the day ahead.
My style icon is Brigitte Bardot. I love how she wore black eyeliner with nude lip colours. I wear that a lot but I also like to mix it up and wear a bright pink like Fuchsia Flash or a coral, especially if I’m a bit sun-kissed.
I’ve got a real passion for fashion and studied it for my A-levels. I’ve just done a collection with Oasis which I’m really excited about. I can’t wait to wear floral prints and monochrome for Spring.
For Mother’s Day I’m going to spoil my mum with a facial to help her relax and I’ll also treat her to some Essie nail colours.
The Saturday’s all have different beauty looks and skin tones so we don’t fight over the same beauty products. We all use clear lip gloss and mascara but then have our own essentials. I never get bored of sitting in the make-up chair, I think it’s because I didn’t wear much make-up when I was younger so it’s all very new to me still.
The thing that I love about make-up is it isn’t permanent. It’s not like a tattoo, you can just take it off if you don’t like it. You can experiment and have fun and if it all goes wrong remove it and start again.
Maybelline Great Lash has been my must-have mascara ever since I heard that the Olsen twins used it. If it’s good enough for Mary-Kate and Ashely, then it’s good enough for me!
My signature scent is Tom Ford Black Orchid which is unisex and smells so different on everyone - I love how perfume does that. I’ve worn it for ages and I love that it takes me from day to night.
My boyfriend lives in LA so I spend a lot of time on that 10-hour fight. I take my make-up off as soon as I get on the plane and I put my hair up in a bun to keep it off my face. I drink as much water as I can as you get so dehydrated.
I don’t always have time for beauty treatments but I recently had a massage and it made me totally zone out. I find it hard to switch off as I’m always thinking about work so I think I need to have one more often. LA is the only place where I fully switch off and relax.
