The Look: A healthy, golden skintone that looks like you’ve just spent a week in Miami and came home via a dermatologists. Ironically the models were made to look like they had no make-up on, despite the fact make-up artist’s carefully layered primer, foundation, concealer, highlighter and powder for a flawless, satin finish.
Matthew Williamson, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, House of Holland, Christopher Kane and Topshop Unique.
Your New Skin Essentials:
The Look: Chic Nude VS Classic Red
Natural nails were seen at Moschino Cheap And Chic, Tom Ford, Erdem, Mulberry and Christopher Kane while the manicurists at Peter Jensen, Duru Olowu, L’Wren Scott, Meadham Kirchoff and Antonio Berardi went for classic pillar-box red.
“Next season’s nail shape is the same as this season’s; boy short with rounded edges,” manicurist Jenni Draper, backstage at Meadham Kirchoff.
The Look: From metallic shimmer in the inner corners of the eyes to mega-watt manicures, s/s 14 is going to be sparkly.
Whistles, Temperley London, Julien Macdonald, Emilia Wickstead, Giles and Osman.
Eyeshadow is going to be massive next season. Expect fuchsia as seen at Burberry, lilac as seen at Holly Fulton and metallic sapphire as seen at at Moschino Cheap And Chic. Colour-phobic? Graphic black stormed the runways at Roksanda Ilincic and Ashish and will give s/s a grunge-glam twist.
The Look: Backstage at Mulberry, Mathias Van Hooff, L’Oréal Paris make-up artist, built lash intensity by applying two layers of mascara, alternating between L’Oréal Paris’ False Lash Flutter and Miss Manga (coming soon). Note, it’s all about mascara on top and bottom lashes.
Holly Fulton, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi and Jean-Pierre Braganza.
“Dip your mascara wand into loose transparent powder, then back into the tube to plump-up the formula and create thicker lashes,” says Val Garland, backstage at Preen by Thornton Bregazzi.
The Look: “Think a 90’s Kate Moss; a healthy caramel tan achieved by lounging with your girlfriends in the sun,” tanning expert Nichola Joss, backstage at Preen by Thornton Bregazzi.
Topshop Unique, House of Holland, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi and Mary Katrantzou.
“Prep the skin with moisturiser, add a light layer of St Tropez Instant Tan , wait for a few seconds then apply another coat of moisturiser for a dewy finish. This natural glow will look great against next season’s white, pastel and neon colours,” Nichola Joss.

Star of the Show
Turbo the British bulldog at Mulberry caused quite a commotion backstage. We love that she got a good old groom before walking the runway – smooth, soft hair all round.
Seen and Heard
Cara Delevingne made a B-line for the bacon butties backstage at Mulberry. We do love a girl who likes her carbs.
All of the guests at Matthew Williamson left singing to Rapture’s How Deep Is Your Love? which the models walked down the runway to.
Paul Smith, Topshop Unique, Temperley London, Tom Ford, Mulberry and Erdem.
The Look: Think un-done done, flyaways and dishevelled texture. Whether up or down, hair is going to take a relaxed, less-polished direction – perfect for the season of sun, sea and sand.
“It’s about a sexy version of an effortless woman. Blowdry L’Oréal Professionnel’s Tecni Art Pli into mid-length and ends to give hair body and movement. Braid your hair, clamp the braid with a straightening iron for a few seconds, allow to cool and then untie the hair,” L’Oréal Professionnel hairstylist Anthony Turner, backstage at Preen by Thornton Bregazzi.
