To celebrate Eco Month we chatted to the English model about her organic lifestyle, her love for natural beauty and the products she couldn’t live without...
My organic lifestyle stems from when I was misdiagnosed with Crohn's disease. After years of feeling awful on steroids I knew there had to be a natural cure so I saw a herbalist who quite literally changed my life.
"I’d never, ever go to bed before taking my make-up off"
I live a sustainable lifestyle and always recycle - I hate plastic and try not to use it. I have a compost in my garden for all of my kitchen waste and I grow my own fruit and vegetables.
I’m a true believer in you are what you eat. I love super-foods like Maca powder and chia seeds and like to have a 75-per cent raw diet. As for my fitness secrets, I exercise four times a week and like to vary my workouts daily.
When it comes to my beauty icon, I’ve always loved Marilyn Monroe. I also tried to model myself on Bridget Bardot with the black eye make-up. Audrey Tatou has such natural beauty, I love her look.
"I think Angelina Jolie is truly beautiful"
My skincare regime is pretty low-maintenance. I use a great organic cleanser and moisturiser to feed my skin with nutrients and always wear SPF.
I support many ethical and environmental organisations, including The Soil Association and The Carbon Neutral Company. I travelled to Bangladesh with the People Tree Foundation to promote ethical fashion and I’m about to go to Africa with them to support the production of ethical jewellery.
I've got my own organic range called Jo Wood Organics. I used to make perfume and oils for my friends and family and then someone suggested I did it properly, so I did.
